Hero's Lacrosse

FROM PJ KESMODEL, HEAD COACH:

This has been one of the most enjoyable, if not the most enjoyable, coaching experiences I've had in my 48 years of coaching.

FROM CINDY MICHAEL, ASSISTANT COACH:

Having the opportunity to help coach Hero's 2008 has been an incredible experience. These young ladies are some of the finest athletes in their sport. They were able to combine hard work with fun, making the last five years both rewarding and memorable. I can't wait to see what the future holds for each of them!

FROM MEAGHAN CONLON TO CINDY MICHAEL:

Dear Mrs. Cindy,

I want to thank you so much for all the time you have put in these past five years. You always made sure we were focused and ready to play our best. It didn’t go unnoticed when you came to games and practices while still fresh out of surgery. I know from my own encounters that recovering from knee surgery is difficult, but you were always in a great mood, asking how we were and what was new in our lives.

I appreciate how much you put into this team and how it helped create our success. The memories we made with this team are so special and nothing can replace them. You were always encouraging and uplifting, and you always believed in us. You never let us settle. You taught us to be great players on the field and great people off the field.

I am so glad to have had the opportunity to play Hero’s lacrosse and shared in the magic that was our team. As we move on with the rest of our lives, I won’t ever forget those exciting times and the wonderful coaches, like you, that made me a better person. Again, thank you so much for your dedication and time!

Your Defender,
Meaghan Conlon #22

FROM LAUREN GIRALDI TO KATHY BLACK:

Dear Ms. Kathy,

Ever since middle school, you have been getting on my case for not using my right hand as often as I should. Well, thank you for pushing me to my limits and pushing me to work hard and succeed into a Division 1 lacrosse player. You would always help us get our heads in the game and get focused, especially for the big M&D games, we needed nothing but focus.

I remember going to and from Cobra practices, we would always listen to the same songs over and over again. Rachael would hate the music, but you let her have ONE rock song every ride. We would listen to Strawberry Fields Forever; I’ve Got Friends in Low Places, and many more. You and Kristy were the first people to introduce me to country music because I had moved from the ghetto of Prince Georges County, not really, but compared to Howard County, I needed a little bit of country in me.

I really would enjoy having those lunches with you at a restaurant and having talks about lacrosse, school, and my favorite, BOYS. I know, I would always tell you my crush of the week, and you would give me your motherly advice on the subject. Thank you very much for all of those experiences, and you really served as a motherly figure to me and I felt comfortable talking with you about anything. Thanks for all of your hard work!!!
