From the Director
Hero's Tournament Lacrosse coaches and board members are really excited about the many changes coming with the 2012 season. Please help spread the word.
- Due to increased interest in our younger teams, Hero's is considering creating developmental teams for the 2012 season. These teams would exist in an attempt to give strong athletes a chance to develop their lacrosse skills, with the ultimate goal of earning a place on the competing team. Depending on interest, there could be multiple teams serving individual age groups or one team serving multiple age groups. These teams would still have the opportunity to compete in tournaments throughout the summer and participants could serve as alternates for their age appropriate team.
- EXCITING NEWS FOR SUMMER 2012! Hero’s will sponsor its own LOW COST “Summer TEAM Camp!” Please mark your calendars now and plan on attending "Hero's United Lacrosse Camp". The small fee for this camp will be included in each player’s dues and will run June 24-28. All of Hero's Tournament Lacrosse players will have the unique opportunity of working with many top college players from around the country for an intense five-day camp. Transportation to and from the camp will be provided. Each day will include individual skill work, team strategy sessions/practices and full field scrimmages. Free time will include activities such as: swimming, boating, game room, and team building activities. This camp is not a money-making event for Hero's but rather an opportunity for all of our Hero's players to bond together and make memories for years to come:)

Hero's 2017 Lends a Helping Hand
The Heros 2017 team gathered together on Sunday, September 18th to make more than 100 lunches for the homeless of Howard and Baltimore Counties. This project is managed on a monthly basis by People Who Need People, a charity focused on homeless and at-risk women and children.
The girls quickly divided into three groups. Two of the groups made sandwiches. The other group assembled drinks, fruit and a treat in a lunch bag, and then they worked together to add a sandwich to each bag and package them in groups of five to be delivered to the homeless shelters, such as Grassroots Emergency Shelter in Columbia, MD. Once they finished packing, they cleaned the kitchen and loaded up the delivery truck.
"It is great to know that our Heros team is helping people in need, and it was fun to be with everyone," said Julia Sheehan, one of the players. Families made a great effort to be there, including one mom who ran the Philadelphia half-marathon earlier in the day. Even though many of the girls played games or had tryouts the same day, they all brought great energy to a great cause. "I'd like to do this again," commented player Devon Filippone - - a sentiment felt by all.
